Hotel Overview

Located in the Largest City in Northern Manitoba, The Thompson Inn was constructed in 1958 and was the town’s very first hotel facility.

The Thompson Inn has been the first of many businesses. The Royal Bank (first bank in Thompson) was housed inside these walls. The first area's radio station also called the Thompson Inn its home.

A number of political personalities have visited Thompson from the early days and found refuge at the Thompson Inn, most notable was a Cabinet Minister who when on to be Prime Minister of Canada, Jean Chretien.

The Thompson Inn has been part of the fabric of Thompson since day one; a social gathering place; a meeting place. From the first day we unlocked our doors to the present day, we welcome all through our front doors. We service people from all over our Northern Region and we stand behind our motto “HOSPITALITY IS OUR BUSINESS”.

We are delighted to offer friendly staff and services, good food, a wide variety of entertainment and other amenities all located without having to leave the property.

Choose from our full service restaurant; our live country/ country rock entertainment in the North Star Saloon where we showcase local aboriginal talent 6 nights a week (one of only a few Beverage rooms in Canada to claim this); our Northern Lights Lounge which features VLT gaming machines or the TI Beer Mart, our self serve beer vendor.

With $2.5 million dollars in renovations, We are ready to provide you and your guests with some of the best hotel facilities that Northern Manitoba has to offer. We are confident that your stay will be an enjoyable one.
